At Primary, the Montessori philosophy shapes our child community, embedding life skills into all we do.

In our Nido level—Italian for “nest”—we focus on building practical skills, critical thinking, and essential social‑emotional abilities like courtesy and self-regulation. Each day, we invite children to explore their natural curiosity and love of learning.

Through play and discovery, we foster cognitive and social‑emotional growth, with an emphasis on gross and fine motor skills. Our daily activities, from team games to dance and yoga, engage both mind and body, building strength, coordination, and joy.

As certified early‑childhood development guides, we understand each child’s unique journey. We provide individualized feedback and encouragement, ensuring every child feels supported and empowered to grow at their own pace.

Little Ones

At Primary, children immerse themselves in a world of creative, tactile, and sensorial experiences designed to nurture their natural curiosity and discovery.

From infancy through elementary, they engage in hands‑on, project‑based workshops that foster concentration, critical thinking, problem‑solving, and a deep sense of wonder. We’re the first play space designed to truly engage your child in the art of mastery, with offerings ranging from sewing and toy‑building, photography and cooking in our fully equipped kitchen.

Self‑guided play

At Primary, our open play space encourages self‑guided exploration, where children can choose from a variety of activities and tactile materials. Whether it’s dressing up for imaginative play, building with tools, painting on an easel, or crafting with natural materials, the space fosters creativity and independence, allowing each child to explore and create at their own pace.

“Tales of Wonder” at Primary is a literacy workshop inspired by Montessori principles, engaging children from infancy onward in rich poetry, storytelling, and global literature. Through regular author visits and hands-on workshops, children craft story-related items like puppets, bringing the characters to life. The program also includes a book-sharing circle where children present their favorite reads to friends. Fun team-based games introduce phonetics and phonemes, all while fostering a deep love for literacy with the help of our dedicated reading team.
Children engage in hands-on, experiential science-based experiments, research projects, and collaborative discovery, fostering a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of the universe. From early biology to early physics, each activity encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning, aligning with Montessori’s holistic approach.
Primary’s “Sound and Rhythm” workshop offers children a unique experience of sound vibrational healing and breathwork to help regulate emotions and calm the nervous system. Through playful somatic dance, children engage in fun, movement-based activities that support nerve regulation. The workshop also includes beginner music lessons, yoga for coordination, and choreographed dance classes. Some sessions are designed for children only, while others invite the whole family to participate, fostering connection, emotional balance, and joyful movement.
Primary’s Practical Life workshop, a regular part of our schedule, allows children to engage in hands-on life skills activities disguised as play. Guided by Montessori principles, this workshop offers children the chance to participate in real-life tasks they wouldn’t typically encounter. Activities include food preparation like slicing fruits and vegetables in our open fully equipped kitchen, pouring liquids, polishing wood or metal, sweeping, arranging flowers, and even basic sewing. These tasks promote independence, coordination, concentration, and responsibility, all while fostering a sense of accomplishment through meaningful, practical work.

We believe that harmony is the gateway to happiness. Our programming is designed to help parents balance their time between self and family, work and play, and solitude and connection.

Grown‑ups have the option of relaxing on our adult‑only floors, or spending time with their child as they navigate the play space with our Guides. Additionally, they have access to a variety of activities taking place throughout the week.

Vision

We believe in the transformative power of balance for a fulfilling life. Through holistic experiences for adults and Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio-inspired enrichment for children, we foster well-being and growth for the whole family.

Space

Our 3-floor, 5,300 sq foot home is designed to promote a peaceful and welcoming environment, with amenities including a co-working lounge, children’s guided play space, and meditation and movement spaces.

Community

Primary is where families connect, celebrate and cultivate a sense of belonging. Through our programming and space design, we seek to bring our community together around meaningful shared experiences. We look to co-create wherever possible with our members.
