ABOUT US
“I found Primary during my postpartum journey, a time when everything felt both beautiful and overwhelming.”
Our Founder’s story
A Catskills and Texas native, Hadassah’s connection to nature and the wonder of childhood has shaped her approach to education from the very beginning. As the eldest daughter, initially homeschooled by her mother in her early years, she experienced firsthand the power of curiosity-driven learning grounded in love, stability, and exploration. She later navigated both public and private school systems, giving her a broad understanding of how different learning environments shape development.
Across more than a decade in early childhood education—including leading a Montessori school in New York City as Head of School — she has worked with children of all learning styles, including neurodivergent and neurotypical abilities, from Autism to Cerebral Palsy. Through Montessori and developmental psychology, she observed the profound impact of environments designed to honor each child exactly as they are.
Dr. Montessori reminds us, “Children are human beings to whom respect is due,
superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future.” What an extraordinary thought—that in their purity and potential, children hold within them the seeds of a better world.
Our role is not to direct their genius but to create an environment that respects and nourishes it, allowing it to blossom. This belief is at the heart of what we are building. Contrary to what we’ve been told—that “no one is special”—we recognize that brilliance is as common as dirt, and there is extraordinary in everyone. Our work is about fostering a space so rich in inspiration and support that it becomes impossible for a child not to discover their unique value.
Together, we are nurturing a concept that has the potential to reimagine how we raise
our families in NYC and beyond.
We hope to have you here at Primary.
With gratitude,
Hadassah, Founder
